The central reason why the public despises the American news media is because the news media roots for the public’s destruction.
“What!?” exclaims the reader as he spits coffee on the monitor.
With Hurricane Irene being downgraded into a tropical storm, you can tell the reporters are disappointed. I think the issue goes beyond reporters looking silly by standing in the rain and telling us it is raining. When someone wishes a strong hurricane, they are wishing for the destruction of homes and lives for the hopes of ratings.
Imagine if a TV reporter said, “I wish for your neighborhood to be destroyed so I can get better ratings on my TV show.” A person’s response to such a TV reporter would be boiling hatred. The person might respond, “So in order for you to succeed, I must be destroyed?”
Do reporters realize how they are coming across to the public with their desire for disaster?
