Email: I hope
That a video game industry crash happens. Because just as before, from the ashes of the Atari, blossomed the greatness that was the NES. I don’t know if this sort of dev worship or arrogance from the devs was always there, or if it is just more exposed now (A lot of that is thanks to you btw). But it has to stop.
I am absolutely insulted by NSMB2. So much so that NSMBU better damn well show me something worthwhile for a 250-300$ investment. Wah wah music, same old art direction, same old half assed effort. Personally, I will feel further insulted when 3D Mario U gets the royal treatment. And I love the narrative of how ‘simple’ we 2D Mario fans’ tastes is, that’s bs. I loved SMB3 battlemod, thanks for posting that video, why can’t that be included with NSMBU? 4 Player battlemode or 5 player battlemode with online! Wtf? Tell me that wouldn’t be dope?
We won’t get this though, not until the industry is ashes. And the industry is headed there. You once said make bold predictions, make bold statements, well here’s some for you and your readers; Sony will be going bankrupt, say goodbye to them if you care, I do not, never liked PS at all. EA also goes the way of the dodo bird, thq the same, Take Two, probably gone too. Man this is exciting playing Pachter. Nintendo will also tumble, how far depends on who can pull the reigns back from these narcissitic asses Sakamoto, Miyamoto and Aonuma. I hope these bums retire. They’ve done more damage than they know to Nintendo’s reputation. Nintendo can find itself bounced from gaming too. Which used to seem impossible, but is looking more and more like a neccessary occurence. After this crop of console makers bites the dust, maybe console gaming can find its way again. I think Generation 8 might be the generation of cleansing.
Only the home consoles crashed. PC gaming and the arcades were still healthy.
What we really need is healthy PC gaming and healthy arcade gaming. Home consoles benefited from both.
