Psygnosis RIP

Today, I went to a store that had a Vita display. Nothing about the Vita impressed me, and I really hate the small Japanese buttons.  I decided to try loading up Wipeout to play. While the game was loading, I wrote a novel, took a shower, got married, and watched the kids grow up. I come back from the store to find the company who made the game dissolved.

Poor Psygnosis. I will always remember Lemmings. Such a wonderful, wonderful game full of charm and cuteness when DOS gaming wasn’t that cute (oh God, it wasn’t).

Above: Let us remember when we first played Lemmings.

This raises the question about who controls the IP of old Lemmings games. I have a hard time believing Sony does because the old DOS Lemmings games are openly considered abandonware on high profile sites. Now, it would be harder than ever to claim those DOS games are IP owned.

Lemmings would make a great free game on GoG…
