Email: If you check out Dark Souls on PC, I highly recommend getting the Dark Souls Fix mod.

Greetings, Master Malstrom.
It is a community effort to patch out the flaws of the port, which by itself, is really sloppy.
The fix eliminates nearly all issues and make it very good to play on the PC, as long as you have a gamepad. It includes things like playing the game on your native monitor resolution, ability to customize your controls, crash fixes, actually functional Alt+Tab, and some other minor issues.
It is currently in version 1.0 (final?) and can be downloaded at http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?tag=dsfix

Enjoy Dark Souls! I certainly did, and while the difficulty is greatly overstated by people who never played old school games in their lives, the game will make you learn and adapt to its world in order to survive, which is more than I can say for nearly every single game out these days, and I love the Dark Fantasy in the game, it’s like playing a horror RPG at times.I’ve seen enough of Dark Souls that makes me want to buy it. However, there is the Wii U coming out that may or may not suck the air out of my entertainment budget. I also need to get a controller as I hear the mouse and keyboard doesn’t work well (crappy PC port).

I disagree with those that say Dark Souls is ‘the BEST GAME EVER MADE’ or ‘IS THE HARDEST GAME EVER MADE’. From observation of the game and the people that play it, it appears that Dark Souls is ‘refreshing’ because content is tethered to one’s gaming skill. If you don’t have the skill or patience to do an encounter, the content is blocked off. This is how video games used to be.

It is also why Dark Souls gets so much respect. People don’t respect games because they do not act like games. They act like movies or puzzle adventures. If you cannot lose, are you actually playing a game?

Gamers want to buy games, not interactive toys.
