GoG has all Ubisoft games on sale this weekend

This is really fun for me since I don’t have any of these games. There is more stuff here I want to buy than I can absorb as a gamer. What I mean is that if I buy everything I want, there will be tons of stuff that will be left unplayed for a while. I don’t like making a backlog. I currently have Outcast and Thief in my GoG backlog.

One of the problems with great old PC games is that they are too good. They have so much content. It takes a while to go through them unlike console games. It’s why I think the Virtual Console can have like every game N64 Era and below available and gamers would consume the games rapidly. Arcade era games are actually meant to be played in short spurts and swapped for another game.

But in PC gamer land, it takes a while to consume a PC game. For a GREAT PC game, they never truly get consumed. How do you get tired of a game like Civilization? You just don’t.

So I’m going to just get Heroes of Might and Magic III (never played any of the HOMM games before) and Might and Magic Collection (1-6 games, I did play the early ones in the 80s). I want to buy more, but those two are going to take a while to consume properly. But this is good because it gives me reason to keep coming back to the store. I feel overwhelmed with all the great games to buy.

It’s a shame Nintendo won’t allow that with their consoles. “We must release a VC game once per month to properly defend its value and to increase console momentum.” It’s so lame. By the time a library appears, the console cycle is over and Nintendo won’t allow us to bring our VC collection to future consoles. So what’s the point?
