The Apocalypse.
Just as railroad industry ended to the car and plane industry and the movie moguls got crushed by the television, the new industries were in the same business. Railroads and cars were still in the transporation business just as movies and television are both in the entertainment business. While the business of Digital Play is the same, the Video Game Industry is on its last legs and will be replaced by the mysterious new industry arising now. It is the end of Video Games in terms of that ‘frame’. One trajectory has a future. The other does not. When one trajectory overtakes the other, then the event is labeled disruption.
