Email: Why Microsoft didn’t show Burnout

Advertisements

Hi,

it’s just a very short Question. There are a lot of news-Articles popping out in German Media claiming Phantom is the future and holy grail of all gaming. The interesting part is: some of the newspapers say, they tried themselves with a modified version of Burnout (which worked amazing, according to them). I’m kind of confused now. Why the hell didn’t MS show this Burnout-Demo at E3
, if Natal eeehhm… Phantom is working so well. Why did MS choose to show some hardly working Demos??

btw: German Newspapers are known for integrating payed ads in their Online-“Articles”

PS: Sorry for any bad english, I’m not a native Speaker

You non-native English speakers should stop apologizing. You write English very well. Most native English speakers don’t even bother to learn to speak English well. It annoys me on websites or forums when people talk LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME or smthing like this, ya kno’w? You foreign speakers often speak English better than many natives… especially on the internet.

You ask a good question. But let us ask another question first, who was the target of Phantom’s demonstration? Non-gaming media who think video games are in the technology business, not entertainment business. I think the Burnout demo was excluded because the Natal demonstration wasn’t aimed at the gaming industry but at the media. Microsoft knows these non-gaming media will have to report on what they saw at the conference. All Microsoft showed were the typical games. They needed something for the non-gaming media. The Natal demonstration was it. Burnout was excluded since the audience they were aiming the marketing message at were not the gaming press. This is my guess as to why.
