Nintendo is still the Chocolate Factory

Back in the 80s, during the Era of NES, there were ‘World of Nintendo’ shops within shops. There were classic games (though we didn’t know it at the time), one after another, coming out. Nintendo came across as being some sort of vast Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory where you imagined some sort of magical game makers crafting these games. The truth is that Nintendo is bare bones hospital style. After the years I’ve been observing Nintendo, it still remains the Chocolate Factory.

One of the reasons why are things like this. This is Iwata Asks series on the Motion Plus. Such a simple device and it should have a boring story. But, no, Nintendo goes Chocolate Factory on it with strange and bizarre ways of creation and testing. It is not unlike the story of some inventors I know. One Professor of Physics at the University of Texas I knew would invent attenaes. In his house, you would trip over attenaes he was building, many were built from odd ends and ends. It is odd how the Iwata Asks series is strangly entertaining. It must be the laughing gas that is being pumped into that interview room.
