Other Articles Translated Into Brazilian Portuguese

Hi Malstrom,

Jonathan was not the first to translate your articles to brazilian
portuguese. André Franco did this since last year. If you enter his
blog ( http://gamehall.uol.com.br/loadingtime/index.php ), you will
see the translation of the Marvelous entry. He also translated the
birdman article last december, through february (he divided it into
four parts). I read his translation, and was really impressed by this
article. That is when I began reading your posts.

Keep posting, your articles are great!

You’re correct! I don’t want to leave anyone out.

I’m in awe and deeply humbled with people volunteering to translate the articles. I’ve tried writing about things to say to thank them for it, but it all seems inadequate.

My gut feeling tells me the great future game talents are not going to come from areas like Japan, America, or the usual suspects in Europe (such as the UK). Rather, it will come from outside those places.

I’m a PC gamer and with many games I ask myself, “Who is making these mods? They are brilliant!” Many of these are for games that are pretty old like Warcraft 3 among others. Many gamers have moved on, but a sizable community keeps churning out great little wonders. They are from Brazil, Holland, and areas not one instantly thinks of ‘games industry’.

Many readers of this website, from emails and all, hail from non-English areas. That just amazes me. It amazes me because the articles tend to be giant walls of text. It is hard to believe that native English speakers would sit there and read a giant wall of text on the Internet let alone non-native English speakers.

Again, let me say to all: thank you.
