I see the blaming of the economy as a type of denial of the Next-Generation Implosion. Core Gaming is not going to grow in customers.

In the video, you never hear ‘customers’ talked about except in some vaporous appendage to the ‘business model’. You never hear Nintendo mentioned or the New Generation companies.

Blaming the recession for the Next-Generation Implosion is like blaming the thunderstorm for knocking down a hollowed rotting tree. The tree looked so strong on the outside, but we all knew of the decay on the inside. Gusts from an economic wind wouldn’t knock it down if it was healthy.
