PS3 is not trying to be a computer anymore

PS3 Slim will be unable to install other Operating systems on it like Linux. The Spiderman logo branding of PLAYSTATION 3 will also be gone.

From Sony’s words and actions, it appears Sony is killing Kutaragi’s vision of a ‘computer’ and focusing the PS3 as a video game machine.

The PS3 Slim does seem to have that ‘Chinese cheapness’ sense about it. I am curious how the customer reaction will be once it gets into their hands. Did the price cut come with cuts of product quality?

If your console was being outsold by the Xbox 360, why make quality hardware a priority? It doesn’t seem to bother customers with the 360 so why should it bother Sony?
