Music #22

Homeworld

PC

1999

This theme is based off of the eight voice choral version of “Adagio for Strings” composed by Samuel Barber in 1936. Fantastic music.

I remember reading a developer interview on “Homeworld” before the game came out. He said that he wanted to make a game to match the quality he felt NES games like Metroid exuded. I love that drive towards quality, that flight away from mediocrity. I love it when game developers aim to shoot for the moon for their quality. Even if they miss, they’ll be among the stars.
