On the music posts

Some people are sending well meaning ‘requests’ for music to be put up in the Music Posts. I don’t mind any of this.

But the purpose of the music posts is to highlight that gaming used to be about rock and roll and to highlight how music is extremely important to the consumer experience (the game wouldn’t be the same without the music). I also want to use it to highlight that the Commodore 64 and Gameboy created great music. And I want to shine a spotlight on some older games that have been wrongly passed over (most of these would be on PC).

I’m not posting any recent games. I’m not posting any “famous” soundtracks that we all know (like Mega Man [except on Gameboy] or Final Fantasy). You guys know those songs so I’d rather focus on others.

I can only post YouTube videos in this blog. I cannot embed any other media.

Also, I won’t put up videos with a dorky voice talking over the game. You can’t hear the music then!

I hope the music posts add up where someone could click on the “Music” category and have instant soundtracks they can listen to at work or wherever else.
