Email: Audience is always right

Hello, just saw that quote on your post, thought you’d like to know who the author was, if you don’t already ^^ it’s William Friedkin’s

“But the audience is right. They’re always, always right. You hear directors complain that the advertising was lousy, the distribution is no good, the date was wrong to open the film. I don’t believe that. The audience is never wrong. Never.”

– William Friedkin, in a NYT interview

Yeah, that was it. Great little quote.

I was playing with a 3DS today. I thought, “Not sure how people get a headache! I certainly am not getting one!” while I played. But later, I had a headache. Yeaouch! The last thing I want a game console to do is make my head hurt.

I’m not at all happy with the 3DS design. The action buttons are too damn small. I hate the start and select buttons. Why couldn’t they just be normal buttons? Why are they a ‘bar’ or whatever? I do like the slide pad. That’s pretty cool. But I despise that D-pad. It is way too small and its placement is horrible. How am I supposed to play 2d Mario on this thing?

I guess I won’t. Damn shame because placing the teeny tiny D-pad placed so low makes it impossible to comfortably play old Gameboy games as well. It just feels wrong. I’m always used to the D-pad being parallel to the action buttons (which makes sense with your hands holding the device evenly).

People shouldn’t mistake my posts about the 3DS to be angry or upset. I’m actually quite giddy. It has been my suspicion that the 3d revolution was the worst thing to ever happen to Nintendo. The 3DS struggling (or just selling well in America) certainly fits my ‘big picture’ thoughts of Nintendo’s downfall with the N64 resulting, in great part, to 3d.

And when disinterest rises in game consoles, people turn to pc games as an alternative. Dumbed down pc game machines like the PlayStation suddenly look inviting. How else to explain PSP sales going up after the 3DS release?
