Email: Nintendo says Skyward Sword has puzzles everywhere

Yep, they went out of their way to say that, with (I quote, no joke) “There are puzzles everywhere, with the dungeons and outside the dungeons”, and: “Every enemy is practically a puzzle”, and to top it off, he then says:

“Everything is filled with puzzleness”.

This is like a bad joke, they are using this in a positive context.
Here is the video:

Hahaha, it is even worse than that! He called the entire Skyward Sword game as a ‘giant dungeon’. And the enemies are ‘like puzzles’. See? See? Old Malstrom may be crazy, but he knows where Nintendo wants to go.

Due to how underwhelming the GDC Zelda trailer was, note how there wasn’t much shown (aside from a montage) about Skyward Sword. A good marketing move so Zelda fans can make believe Skyward Sword will be as awesome as Ocarina (which it won’t). I remember the hype for Twilight Princess was INSANE. This time, it is entirely different.

He talks about upgrading weapons at the end, but this can only be done in a puzzle based way (since the combat is puzzle based). I thought Zelda Wii would be based on the swordplay demo of Wii Sports Resort. But that would actually take work to develop, and the Zelda team doesn’t like to do actual work. Why did it take them 5 years to make this game anyway? Will the next Zelda come out at the end of the Wii U’s shelf life? By how slow Nintendo makes Zelda games now, this seems to be the case.

Also, FLYING! LET’S PUT FLYING EVERYWHERE! EVEN IN MARIO KART! I guess that’s why they brought the Tanooki Suit back in Mario 3DS, because it flies.

That’s exactly right. Everything must fly or float underwater in order to ‘show off’ the blessed 3d output!
