Every year at E3, before the Nintendo conference starts, I give an olive branch to the ‘Unfortunate-Person-At-Nintendo-Assigned-To-Read-This-Website’ by putting pictures of kittens up. Pictures of kittens have been proven to calm the nerves of Nintendo employees. Iwata even has to order his employees to stop sending pictures of kittens through the company email!
I always felt sorry for the ‘Unfortunate-Person-At-Nintendo-Assigned-To-Read-This-Website. He must be drugged out of his mind, loaded with anti-depressants, just trying to make it through day by day. And this day, of all days, is his busiest time. He must observe the reactions coming from all places on the Internet including this site. (“But Malstrom,” asks the reader, “how do you know he exists?” Because he has emailed me thanking me for the kittens in years past. You have no idea what pictures of kittens will do to Nintendo employees’ morale.)
So let us hear it for the ‘Unfortunate-Person-At-Nintendo-Assigned-To-Read-This-Website’ ! Here be some kittens! Mew! Mew! Mew!
