I was reading your most entry on e-sports and how it isn’t going to be picked up by others. The matter of the fact is, there were already shows that had some of that “E-sports” as a type of sport.
Nick Arcade
Back in the early 90s with the classic games from NES to the 16 bit games and a some trivia based game play and what not. That show lasted for 2 seasons and lasted for a little longer than 1 year.
Arena
This show uses more modern games. Just like watching modern games, it is extremely methodical and boring to watch (and can only be interesting to play, not watch).
When given the option to watch one or the other, I would rather watch Nick Arcade. It seems a lot more spontaneous. However, I will probably never watch either. At least Nick Arcade was able to hold my interest somewhat, Arena could not.
Nick Arcade is more of a game show. Arena seems more like the E-Sports complete with annoying casters trying to ‘spice things up’. Reader, can you guess Arena’s sponsor? Hahahaha.
