Bethesda and Activision must be shaking in their boots!
Nintendo is reminding me very much of the N64 Era Nintendo. The N64 sold very well in the United States and even outsold the PlayStation here up until the end. It is pretty easy to point at the Gamecube to see the boulders of failure from the ‘momentum’ of decline. But it is hard to point at the N64 in the early days to point out the pebbles of failure that would start the avalanche of decline.
What I’m trying to do is point out the pebbles. Everyone else will eventually see the boulders. One thing is for sure, I haven’t seen this type of arrogance coming from Nintendo since the N64 days. It is never a problem with the ‘Nintendo philosophy’ or with the software development’s ‘ideas’. The problem is always blamed on the marketers, the distributors, and the price.
