If Nintendo wanted to continue the Gaming Revolution, how could they indicate it?

They could make 2d Mario. Oh wait, they already did. More 2d Mario will not sell people that Nintendo wishes to continue the Gaming Revolution.

They could make NES-esque simple sports and fitness games. Oh wait, they already did. More of these type of games will not persuade anyone.

They could bring back the Tanooki suit which was not in the 2d Mario games. Oh wait, they did with that boring 3d Land game. Nintendo can no longer bring back the Tanooki Suit and convince people that they wish to continue the Gaming Revolution.

They could make a New Legend of Zelda. While this has not been done yet, should it be done and Nintendo not follow it up with wishing to continue the Gaming Revolution, no one will become excited over NLOZ games. They will become nothing but bait to get people onto a Gamecube-esque game console full of Aonuma Zelda and 3d Marios.

The point is that Nintendo is running out of indications. So should the day when Nintendo wises up and says, “We need to stop playing Market Calculator and focus on the Gaming Revolution,” they will have no way to show it. It is why Nintendo can use the Wii brand and Wii aesthetics for the Wii U, but it is a dud because people know Nintendo didn’t mean it with the Wii so why should they this time?

Nintendo and these retro style games are like the boy who cried wolf. People are rapidly going to stop coming over because the revolutionary wolf is never actually there.
