Yes, you on the other hand, predicted that the Vita would sell due to it’s ‘oh so fantastic’ game cases, it’s ‘glorious’ screen, it’s buttons etc.
You did not discuss it’s actual software, you know the thing people buy consoles for. You were so focused on making Nintendo look bad you missed the Vita’s glaring flaws.
Hell no, console games on handhelds has got to go!
Sony, like Japan, is in a death spiral. I never predicted Vita would sell due to its screen or buttons. What I did say was to not underestimate it… because Nintendo wasn’t. Nintendo was spending a considerable amount of money in response to the Vita which told me that Nintendo saw Vita as a threat.
Nintendo sees Vita differently than us Westerners. The PSP became very popular in Japan and outsold the PS2 there. And it all occurred due to one game: Monster Hunter. And we saw how Nintendo spend a good amount of money just to get Monster Hunter to 3DS.
The business side of Nintendo definitely sees Sony and its Vita as a threat. The PSP was the most successful competitor to Nintendo’s handheld line ever. People not using their brains and just saying, “Vita will fail, lawl” is missing all this. And even if Vita fails, all it takes is one game to revive it like Monster Hunter did to the PSP.
