NSMB2 is SMB2 J again

The more I see of this game, the more I want to run away from it. It looks like a basterdized version of SMB 3 in NSMB Wii skin.

Running around collecting coins, shooting coins, is not interesting. The entire purpose of the P-Block was not to collect coins but to turn blocks into coins so you could get past the blocks. But this game must have been rushed when it was made. (Ever notice that 3d Mario NEVER gets rushed? Ever? I feel like such a second class gamer with being a fan of 2d Mario.)

If the gold collecting was some alternative mode to the game, it would be cool. But it is the main game. And seeing how everything is re-used from the graphics, sound effects, and music, it makes the game look extremely stale. I keep looking at it and thinking, “I’ve played that game before.”

If this is the approach Nintendo is going to take, why not release a game called ‘NSMB Construction Kit’ and have us make our own Mario games instead of paying money for this act of recycling?

I think I’ll have more fun rom hacking NSMB and NSMB Wii and designing and playing other people’s levels than paying for whatever the hell game is shown in that video.
