Email: The problem of game industry

Hello Malstrom!!

I think one of the main problems at game industry is that they’re more concerned about reviews than sales. For them is better that their game has awesome reviews than having great sales. The problem is that game developers are more interested about their egos than please costumers. There is more emotion than reason in entertainment industries.

The problem with being more concerned about reviews than sales is that game journalists are hardcore gamers, and we know that hardcore gamers don’t understand anything about games…

Sorry about the english.
Keep up the great work!I do know game developers can get bonuses if the game has a high enough metacritic number. The game journalists know this and often inflate the score so these developers get their bonus.

I don’t blame either the developer or journalist. I blame the business guy who put in place the stupid policy in the first place. If their company made Wii Sports, they still wouldn’t get a bonus because most game journalists didn’t like the game. It is a stupid policy. Bonuses shouldn’t be given out due to something as ridiculous as game reviews.

A better policy should be put in place. Preferably one that doesn’t involve a game journalist.
