…but I still won’t be playing unless the game starts dropping usable loot. I don’t care what treadmills Blizzard comes up with, the main reason to play Diablo is to kill monsters for loot. Except the loot is never good, even before Inferno (the monsters grow in power yet the loot continues to be shit). I can’t progress in the gear I bought on the AH which is superior to everything that drops in the act I’m sick to death of farming, and I’m supposed to continue farming?
Say I magically got good enough gear to farm Act 3 efficiently… I’d then want to farm for a chance at those cool new Legendaries. Oh but wait, they never drop anyway, so why should I be excited? The drop quality in this game is just terrible, and nothing short of better drops can motivate me to jump back in and kill more monsters.
I played that BrowserQuest game you linked, and had so much fun because when you killed a difficult monster, you got a good reward! That never happens in Diablo 3.
I don’t understand why you have to be level 60 to enter Inferno when it drops loot all the way down to the low 50s. I’m curious is the problem that good loot doesn’t drop or is it that so much crappy loot drops? I think it is the latter. There is just so much garbage in the game. Maybe if it was reduced, such as the below lvl 60 items, farming would be more fun.
Diablo 3’s loot system has more weeds grow up than actual plants. And what do you do with weeds? You pull them out and throw them away. The loot may not need more ‘crops’, but it certainly needs less weeds.
The Paragon levels and the magic find change is, in a way, going to cut down on the weeds. I just don’t know if it will be enough.
