I agree, the price is too high for the Wii U. And I don’t like that there are two versions. Why is Nintendo copying Sony and Microsoft’s bad ideas? They know I want a black console, so they’re trying to gouge me by packing in a stupid Neverland game I don’t want. Ugh. Can’t I just have a black console without the garbage? I could just wait. After all, I got credit cards to pay for!
The Wii U does have one good thing going for it though: Wii Remote support. I just heard Black Ops 2 has Wii Remote support. That is huge. Now, I may not get the game, but I’m at least interested now because of the controller support. I sat out on FPS titles during the GameCube era because the controls were just too complex and unworkable. Dual analog sucks. Hard. I only jumped back into shooters once Metroid Prime 3 showed me how they should control.
What’s really funny is that now all the Call of Duty fans from the HD systems are losing their minds over this. Check out the comments: http://www.gamespot.com/news/black-ops-ii-confirmed-for-wii-u-6396409
I may not jump into Call of Duty, but I will jump into other shooters that support my control scheme, and I can’t wait to whoop these snotty little bastards using my “stupid combo.” Revenge of the retro gamer!
I agree. The Wii-mote support for FPS games like Call of Duty, especially now we have the complete package, makes me want to buy the game where I dislike the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions.
Christmas always sucks to the bank account because Christmas isn’t about buying things you want, it is about buying things you don’t want, it is about buying gifts for your family. The recession has really skewed my spending habits, and I’m sure I’m not alone. Looking into the Wii U *after* Christmas sounds better. One thing I might do is buy some of the Wii U games before I buy the hardware itself. Buying a Wii U and a few games is like $500 to $600 dollars. It is too much of a financial bitter lump to swallow at once.
