Email: I’m surprised.

Im truly surprised hearing from you that you were even considering this console despite all of its lack of content. Nintendo, up to this point, hasn’t shown anything that displayed they were changing direction in the slightest. NSMB U (sure has changed from its initial reveal) to me hasn’t changed at all and even showcases those Challenge mode and boost modes that you Just said is a stupid idea when you have to seek out other challenges in a game that should naturally just have it.  It’s still good to see they are releasing a 2D mario with the system, but they have not shown they can do anything down the line otherwise.

Maybe it’s just me, but seeing how nintendo has destroyed their own franchises and proved that they can’t make anything other then sequels and remakes and creative schlock. What was the initial draw? I know you say the virtual console was a make or break…but was it really? was it the notion that , if you can transfer your already bought VC games to the Wii U, it would then allow you buy the system and then be able to comfortably wait and see what they will release for the console?

Thinking on it , the only way for me to purchase a Wii U is if there is a definitive true Metroid (no maternal instincts) and Zelda ( No fucking puzzles) on the system . Shoot, even a Rhythm Heaven on the system to drive the whole idea of the Wii U being a Giant DS (which is the only real concept I kinda like about the whole thing!) would make me look at the system in a different light. Whats the online going to be like? Are third party companies going to be able to implement their horrendous online passes?

As it stands right now , the Wii U is Too expensive , Filled with ports and has no real drive down the road (since even you have said that this system may as well be a stop-gap to a new system in a few years). Nintendo is exporting their own games to other companies as well as they themselves can’t make them alone anymore (case and point Other M and the upcoming Smash brothers game that Namco is helping build) despite having a sweet 2nd party developer, retro studios, and these Massive teams for Aonuma his zelda team.

Keep making them posts Master Malstrom !

Well, from what I was expecting I thought I was getting something cool.

NSMB U looks fun and is a huge difference from NSMB Mii that was shown. I love 2d Mario!

Being able to transfer my VC games, have them account bound, meant I would then go on a VC buying spree. It would be great to have nearly all the NES, SNES, Genesis library all available. And I’d be playing more VC games since I could play them on the GamePad.

And there surely would be some games that might appear that could interest me. My biggest hope was the E-Shop as it could sell games more of what I was looking for and for a cheaper price than the retail games. I love games like Pac-Man Championship Edition.

And all of it for $299 or lower price.

But no. Nintendo really messed up this console. My expectations, as seen above, were actually very moderate and very small. Since VC games are easily pirated on any computer, there is no point in making us buy them for every game console (and Nintendo said they would be account bound so I assumed I wouldn’t have to buy them again).

It’s not that I’m getting tired of gaming. It is that Nintendo is pushing me away. Just like they did with the N64, Gamecube, and 3DS.
