Email: Iwata Asks

I was wondering what you would think about that Wii U hardware Iwata Asks article.  I liked it as well because Nintendo’s hardware is typically quite resilient, and I like to hear about what they’ve done with the hardware.  However, it bothers me that they even entertained the idea of a cube shape for the system.  Seriously, Nintendo is obsessed with the GameCube.  I haven’t seen you mention this yet, but the Wii U game box design is essentially a blue GameCube game box design.

Nintendo wants to make another GameCube, but market it as a Wii to fool people.

Not a bad point. They did try to use the DS brand to sell 3d output with 3DS.
