Iwata Asks ‘Making of the GamePad’

Here you go, reader. Not much to say since Nintendo hardware developers are always awesome. They show how passionate they are about playing the Wii U while in bathroom.

Then listen to this…

But after last year’s E3, we heard it was difficult to use. We played the NES version of Mario Bros. game on the Wii U GamePad and realized we couldn’t do it very well.

That’s MY GAME. I’m glad to see Mario Brothers still influencing Nintendo hardware. Maybe there is some hope for Nintendo after all. Some of us never stop playing these games. (Can you imagine trying to play Mario Brothers on the N64 or Gamecube controller? Yech.)

It’s a shame that all their hard work is that the controller will be referred to as the ‘Ghetto Pad’ in the future. Maybe removing the ‘pad’ like design of it was Nintendo preemptively realizing they need to make it more like a controller and less like a tablet device. What will be most telling of the Wii U is how players use it in their homes after a month.
