Email: Trouble with Dark Souls? Try the DS fix

I see you are playing Dark Souls on the PC. As you already figured out, it is notorious for being an awful piece of crap job as far as PC ports go.

Lucky for you, fans of the game have made a patch mod for Dark Souls with many bugfixes, higher resolutions, better fullscreen, 60 FPS, fixed texture issues, and so on. All in all, it has everything that From Software should have included in their port from the get go.

Hope it helps.

PS: If it’s any help, try assigning the target lock to your select button. Normally the gesture menu is mapped there, you don’t need that since gestures have no use in singleplayer.

I tried installing it but had to uninstall it due to white screen tear. I also installed a new video card last night so I’m sure my computer is going whacko with getting used to new settings.

You know, I used to be the ‘big time’ PC gamer back in the day where my PC hardware had to be the ‘latest and greatest’. Usually this was to play the latest Wing Commander or Ultima game. It then shifted to playing the latest Westwood game or Blizzard game (Blizzard games used to be more hardware intensive back in the day especially when you bring in online). I used to host 8 player RTS games on my T1 connection which was amazing since Internet play wasn’t possible back then except by tricking the LAN code to move as packets across the Internet. (<3 Kali) Ever since then, my PC game machine has rarely been updated because the hardware intensive games like Crysis do not interest me.  And I don’t exactly need PC hardware upgrades to play GOG games.

However, since it looks like I won’t be buying a game console this generation, I can spend that money into PC upgrades! Yay! I’ll probably focus more on the GOG games and make a Steam box on the side. I’m curious to see how the Xbox 720 or PS4 impact the PC gaming environment. Either current PC games will flock to the consoles or console users will flee to PC gaming.

I believe console gamers are increasingly going to average toward the younger gamer especially with the Xboxes.
