Question: Why does 2d Mario outsell 3d Mario?
Answer: “I don’t think it’s because one game is better than the other. It’s just that compared to 2D, there seems to be more people who are not as comfortable with 3D controls. And maybe a wider range of people were more accepting of the New Super Mario Bros. series, which may have seemed simpler to them.”
Translation: “The 2d Mario fans are too stupid to grasp the sophistication and elegance of 3d Mario. We will keep making more 3d Marios, throwing away tons of money and developer time, until these idiots understand. After five failed new 3d Marios along with a remake, we clearly need to keep making more.”
