Notch was saying some other day that they had a problem with money on
Minecraft, that once you bought it you had endless access, so at some
point, it would cost to make more content, and people would be no
longer paying
Then he said that maybe someday they would have a subscription model,
but that would create a huge backslash, that’s the EA way of doing
things
Now he comes with Minecraft Realms, aimed at parents and younger
children, and I have to say, he done it again
I’ve been watching kids interact with Minecraft. Minecraft is more popular than Mario is to this new young generation.
I’m telling my brother-in-law not to sign up for this service. Instead, he should get his son to learn how to interact with servers and be a server administrator. PC gamers of the 80s and early 90s tend to have high paying jobs because they learned how to get their video game to work… which meant learning the basics of computers and server administration.
Minecraft shows that the hardcore must be destroyed!
