Miyamoto admits his sick, sick 3d obsession with his latest interview.
But, I guess, thinking back, probably “Super Mario 64” and the original “Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.” That era was the first time we were taking games and bringing in this new 3-D technology, building the rules and the framework through which games would be depicted in 3-D, I think, probably made those the most fun games to work on.
Anyone who was alive at the time will recall just how groundbreaking Super Mario Brothers was or Legend of Zelda or Super Mario Brother 3 or Doki Panic or Zelda 2 or even Donkey Kong.
With Ocarina of time, maybe, but what exactly was the impact of Super Mario 64? It was nowhere near the other Mario games.
Why do I keep mentioning this? It is to diffuse the myth that Shigeru Miyamoto is on your side (the oldschool Nintendo fan). What he desires is the elimination of the oldschool Nintendo fans and their standards. He desires only that those oldschool fans be converted to the ‘new ways’ of Nintendo, that 2d Mario fans be converted into 3d Mario fans.
What a POS person this guy is. You think I’m going to be buying Nintendo products with that guy’s attitude? Think again.
