Email: New LttP Zelda

I don’t know… the cave drawing Link is ruining the game for me. Nintendo is relentless at tacking-on gimmicks that just are not necessary and which ruin the basic “feel” of the game. Cave-drawing Link is sort of a childish thing – its like something a kid would draw on a chalkboard. I’m sure there will be some lame backstory about some silly goddess who gave Link the power to transform himself into sidewalk art. the lore of Zelda has become so cheese – the first two and even LttP were not like this at all.

I’m not liking the cave drawing at all either.

I wished Zelda would go back to being ‘epic overworld’, ‘epic dungeons’, ‘epic monsters’, ‘epic items’, and ‘epic battles’. That is what Zelda is. It is not this puzzle crap and never has been. What exactly were the puzzles of the early Zelda games aside from mazes and finding the dungeon entrance?

Zelda was great because it constantly had arcade action and it was non-linear. You could roam in any direction. There were RPG elements where you would be upgrading your character by collecting rupees or something else. The overworld was a dangerous place filled with monsters or evil guards hunting you down.
