Why do I want to buy Need for Speed Wii U?

The type of game I wish was present more on Nintendo systems would be race car games (because I am fracking sick of Mario Kart). Race car games are good local multiplayer games, and they never feel right playing them on the PC. Nintendo systems used to have excellent race car games from Rad Racer, R.C. Pro-AM (NES) to the SNES race car games (Rock-And-Roll Racing). They are games that Nintendo cannot make.

This game seems up my alley. It gives you OPTIONS to play how you want and all the controller options are enabled (such as Wii Remote and nunchucka). Looks nice too.

Iwata complains at the Investers Meeting that Wii U has obtained a reputation for being an ‘underpowered system’. Well, whose fault is that? Every classic 2d Mario game was a graphics showcase in its day. Why didn’t Nintendo make NSMB U actually look interesting and different? For half a decade, I’ve complained that 2d Mario gets the shaft in the music and graphics while 3d Mario gets orchestra music and all the graphical eye-candy. It is not being true to the spirit of Super Mario Brothers. I don’t know whether this was the failure of analysis inside Nintendo or Nintendo managers thinking they will be ‘clever’ and ‘save money’ by giving Super Mario Brothers graphics and music that are ten years dated. I do know that the bored approach to NSMB 2 of making the game revolve around ‘collecting coins’ would never happen in a 3d Mario game. Can you imagine if a 3d Mario game was made where ‘I guess this is the coin collecting game’?

At least Wii U has two games I’d want. Now it needs four more. A real account system would help.
