Email: Why I don’t like the 2DS design

The 2DS from the looks of it will probably be way too big to fit in the standard jeans pocket. The lack of hinge was never a problem for the Gameboys or Gameboy Advance because they could always fit in your pocket. The only exception is maybe the original beefy brick Gameboy, but then they made a new model specifically called the Gameboy POCKET. With the 2DS it looks like it’s going to be both too long and too wide to fit in a kid’s pocket and maybe an adult’s. That’s a dealbreaker for a lot of people because it hampers PORTABILITY which is important for a handheld. The GBA even though it looked like a lunchbox was still compact. This however, is not compact.

They should have at the very least made two different design models of the 2DS, one with a hinge and one without. I really want to buy this, but the awkward square design is killing me. I hope it’s a lot smaller than it looks when I see it in person.

If being in your pocket is so important, why do the XL versions of the handhelds sell so much?

If being in your pocket is so important, why did the Gameboy Micro bomb?
