Have you even once touched a damn Gamecube game in your life? I don’t think you have because the Gamecube’s game weren’t of poor quality. Smash Bros. Melee, Star Fox Assault, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, ect. all awesome games that you didn’t play because you think gaming is a social status and don’t want to taint your image by doing such a thing you pretentious cunt! The Gamecube sold poorly because of a lack of Nintendo’s attempt to take advantage of an online service, something Sony and Microsoft were ahead of the game and taking advantage of. It also didn’t help that Sony had a built-in DVD player on the PS2 which started this ridiculous trend of adding bells and whistles to a console that didn’t need them. It sure as hell wasn’t because the games were bad.

No it was gored when we grew up, realized that the game had too many difficulty balancing issues, became way too tedious when it forced you to start from the very beginning again if you ran out of lives, and did not age well due to various questionable design issues. You heard it here, first. Gamecube sold poorly due to ‘lack of online service’! Hahah. What will the Gamecube apologists come up with next?
I remember at the end of the Gamecube Era. EVERYONE agreed it was a failure. Everyone. Only after the Wii has this absurd alternate universe opened up where people think Gamecube Era was some sort of Golden Age for Nintendo. It certainly wasn’t. The Golden Age for Nintendo was the DS/Wii Era and the NES/Gameboy Era. Financially, this is beyond dispute. If Nintendo wants to get out of their hole, they need to look at the NES/Gameboy Era or the Wii/DS Era, NOT the Gamecube Era. The only era worse than the Gamecube trainwreck would be the Virtual Boy. The reason why we don’t see Virtual Boy defenders is because children were not allowed to grow up with the Virtual Boy due to it messing up children’s eyes (or so parents believed).
This is why I’m cheerful of the future. In Generation 9, we won’t see 3DS brigades calling the 3DS Era the ‘Golden Era’ because the ‘threat to eyes’ prevents the 3DS to going into children’s hands.
