Steam controller still a bust

Valve Corporation is trying to show us how ‘amazing’ their controller is.

Above: Sorry, but Civilization is not designed to play on the couch. Why is Valve Corporation trying to completely destroy PC gaming?

Why do we need this controller anyway? It’s not like there have been TONS of different controllers for playing games with the TV. What is wrong with using a Dual Shock or an Xbox 360 controller? What Valve Corporation is not doing is comparing their controller with the other consoles.

And we all know the Wii remote is still king as a controller for mouse movement. To hell with trying to use a controller as a thumb pad.

And I love how Valve Corporation won’t show their controller to be used with DOTA 2 which is their own game.

Do you know why this monstrosity of a controller exists? It is because Gabe “A Kinder, Gentler DRM” Newell believes he is Steve Jobs. Steam is not the Apple Store. Steam is more like the Wal-Mart of digital gaming. It is great for getting games at 75% off and for communicating with friends for multiplayer. But none of that is going to translate to a console.

“But he is Gabe Newell! OMG! Gabe Newell!” And I heard the same thing about Trip Hawkins. How did that 3DO work out for him?
