Female hardcore gamers

… seem to be as many as male nowadays. Check this out.

You said once that when women were as much gamers as men were during the NES era and such were proof of good health for gaming.

You also said men go to video games because it is their last str
hold in this whole feminized entertainment.

So I wonder how things will turn out now that women and men are as much in hardcore gaming.

What do you think ?

Why bother looking at ‘studies’ which may or may not be worthless? We have sales to look at.

In the political theater, you look at votes as votes is what it is all about. But since voting is only at a certain time far in the future, analysts have to use polls until voting day. In the business world, we don’t have that issue because sales are ‘the votes’ which go on everyday.

Here is the top ten software for July 2015 NPD:

1.) Lego: Jurassic World (360, 3DS, PS3, Xbox One, Wii U, PS4, Vita)
2.) Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
3.) Minecraft (360, PS3 ,Xbox One, PS4)
4.) Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)
5.) Rory Mcilroy PGA Tour (PS4, Xbox One)
6.) The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited (Xbox One, PS4, PC)
7.) Destiny (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3)
8.) Mortal Kombat X (PS4, Xbox One)
9.) FIFA 15 (PS4, 360, Xbox One, PS3, Wii, Vita, 3DS)
10.) Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)

So, assuming that study is true, it means that women are playing Jurrasic World in the Lego game. It means women are playing Batman. It means women are playing Minecraft. It means Women are playing Grand Theft Auto and golf. It means women are playing Elder Scrolls online. It means women are playing Destiny. It means women are playing soccer games. It means women are playing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Aside from ones like Minecraft, it all sounds quite ridiculous. We know women are not behind the sales of Mortal Kombat X.

Therefore, we have only two conclusions:

One: Women are actually buying the above games.

Two: Women are not buying the above games meaning that men are driving the gaming market.

It has to be one or the other. Which is it?

What is most probable is that the study holds little integrity as the many studies do. Sales point to a different reality. Companies know if they ignore this reality, they die. The reality a business will look at is sales, never ‘studies’.
