To give you an idea of just how well Nintendo can keep re-selling their old games over and over again, consider the Classic Mini line-up. There will be a Gameboy Classic Mini. But what if connected to the TV like the Super Gameboy did? While it wouldn’t use the Switch branding, as that could be confusing, why not have the Classic Minis operate like the Switch?
In 10 years, it is very likely that you may be buying a NES Switch or SNES Switch with detachable wireless controllers.
“But the cost, Malstrom! The cost!!!”
Currently, you can buy a $60 refurbished 2DS sometimes with a game. The detachable wireless controllers would add to the cost, but that might be offset by the reduction of CPU and graphic chips. Nintendo could also add in a slightly different selection of games.
