Email: Are you going to play Super Mario 3D World?

Dear Master Malstrom,

You’ve been reviewing all these Wii U games, but we haven’t heard anything about Super Mario 3D World. I’ve played the game, and it’s the 3D Mario that mostly closely resembles Super Mario Brothers. Each level is linear with a time limit and while there are three green stars to collect, you don’t have to collect them to finish the level (although you do have to collect a certain number of stars in order to open up certain levels later). I found it fun to play although precision jumping can be really frustrating. The major downside to the game is that even though the levels are linear it’s relatively easy to reach the end of each one; the only real challenge comes in finding the three green stars. This means that there isn’t much replay value to the game. While I enjoyed it once, I haven’t had any desire to pick it up again except for local multiplayer as it makes for a nice party game.

I highly doubt I’ll be getting much into 3DS.
