The best selling PC game in the world, the game for ‘casuals’ and ‘women’, is far more sophisticated then the “Game Industry” gives it credit. Just listen to the soundtrack. It is better than the ‘hardcore’ games!

The Sims spoke more about the Human condition than any other game ever made and any game that has since been made. And what is the Human condition that the Sims spoke about? It is that our life is going to work, getting money, and blowing it on *stuff* like a bigger TV and expanding our *home*.

Depressing, eh? But the Sims is amazingly accurate in that worldview. People learn to train their Sims so they can get better jobs which means more money. And more money means MORE *stuff*. After a while, you wonder, “What the hell is my Sim living for?”

Don’t laugh, reader! It is funny because it is true.

At least the Sims get to live life to a nice soundtrack. Compared to our soundtracks which consist of blathering people on the TV and various soap operas and sports, the Sims do live in a melody of luxury:
